This Kinstretch session, led by Pieter, focuses on lower complexity movements that maintain a decent intensity to improve joint health and body awareness. It is designed to vary your routine with accessible exercises that still provide effective physical work.
Key segments of this session include:
• Full-Body CARs Sweep: A comprehensive "sweep" of Controlled Articular Rotations for the neck, spine, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles to lubricate the joints and identify your range of motion.
• Spinal Segmentation: A deliberate "segment-by-segment" wave through the spine to build control of the vertebrae, moving away from traditional "all-in-one" movements.
• Targeted Isometrics (PAILs): You will use Progressive Angular Isometric Loading to create safe tension in the neck and shoulders, specifically focusing on shoulder flexion and internal/external rotation.
• Hip & Lower Body Work: The session features kinetic stretching for the hamstrings and glutes, alongside internal and external rotations of the hips to improve joint capacity.
• Nervous System Reset: The class finishes with maximal expansive breathing, a technique used to downregulate the nervous system and calm the body after the physical effort.
Equipment needed: A comfortable space on the floor, and optionally, yoga blocks for support during kneeling or seated positions.
